Coverwell

Privacy policy

Effective [TO CONFIRM: date of publication]

The short version

  • Everything you add stays on your iPhone.
  • There is no account and no sign-in.
  • Coverwell has no analytics, no ads and no tracking.
  • The app makes no network connections, so the developer never receives your data.

This policy covers the Coverwell app for iPhone and this website. "You" means the person using the app. The app is made by [TO CONFIRM: developer's legal name and postal address], called "the developer" below.

What the app stores, and where

Coverwell stores what you enter or add only on your device, in the app's own protected storage:

Items and deadlines
Names, shops, prices, dates, rooms, notes, model and serial numbers, and the return, warranty and guarantee dates worked out from them.
Receipts and photos
Scans, photos and PDFs you add, including ones you share to Coverwell from other apps.
Your details
The name, address and email you can enter for claim letters. They are only used to fill in letters on your device.
Settings
Your default country, the app lock setting and similar preferences.

Receipt files are stored with iOS complete data protection, so they can't be read while your iPhone is locked.

What the developer collects

Nothing. Coverwell has no server, no account system, and no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising code. The app does not connect to the internet. Its App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected".

Apple may share anonymous App Store and app usage statistics with developers if you allowed this in your iPhone's settings (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements). The developer only sees totals, not who you are.

Reading receipts

When you scan or import a receipt, the text is read on your iPhone with Apple's built-in text recognition. Images and text are not sent anywhere.

Permissions

When you share something

Coverwell can create claim kits, reports and a full export as files. They leave your device only when you send them, for example with the share sheet or Mail. Whoever receives them, such as a shop, a manufacturer or your insurer, handles them under their own privacy policy.

Purchases

Coverwell Pro is a one-time in-app purchase handled by Apple. The developer does not receive your name, Apple ID or payment details; the app only learns from Apple whether Pro is unlocked on your account.

Backups

Like most apps, Coverwell's data is included in your iPhone's backups (iCloud Backup or a backup on your computer), if you use them. Those backups are managed by Apple and you, not by the developer. [TO CONFIRM: final app behaviour before release]

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data stays on your device until you delete it. You can delete single items in the app, or delete the app to remove everything it stored on the device. Copies in backups or in files you shared are not affected.

This website

This website uses no cookies, analytics or tracking, and loads nothing from other websites. It is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request data, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, under its own privacy policy. The developer sees only aggregate traffic numbers.

Children

Coverwell is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone. [TO CONFIRM: App Store age rating]

Your rights

Because the developer holds no personal data about you, there is nothing to access, correct or delete on the developer's side; everything is under your control on your device. You still have the right to ask questions or to complain to a data protection authority. [TO CONFIRM: lead supervisory authority for the developer's country]

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If a future version of the app ever adds a feature that sends data (for example optional iCloud sync), this policy will be updated before that version is released.
